Dominus Gladiatus Arena Readiness: Free a Fighter from a Room
Recover a gladiator still resting before a pending team match, check activity timing and separate availability from actual recovery.
How do you remove a fighter who is still resting?
Right-click the gladiator inside the room on PC. In a November 3 developer reply, Brain Seal explains that room occupants can be removed this way and that hovering over the fighter shows the instruction in a tooltip.
The question came from a demo player facing a pending 2v2 match with only one available fighter because the second had not quite finished resting. This is a documented recovery action for that situation, rather than a reason to reload or abandon the school.
What should you inspect before the pending match?
Use the Ludus assistant for the relevant readiness and crowd checks, then inspect these details in the game:
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Room assignment | A fighter still doing an activity may not be in the available roster |
| Remaining activity time | Nearly complete work has a separate documented auto-finish rule |
| Fatigue | Removing a fighter does not mean he has fully rested |
| Injuries | Availability does not establish that an injury has healed |
| Morale or refusal | A fighter refusing combat has another problem to resolve |
| Opponent matchup | Highlighting a fighter in preparation also highlights his matchup in the September documentation |
Read Fatigue, injuries and Morale when the fighter is available but not ready for another demanding fight.
When should a nearly finished activity complete automatically?
The October 7 demo patch says resting or training with less than 0.1 day remaining automatically finishes when an Arena Match is pending. The strict wording matters: it does not promise automatic completion at exactly 0.1 day or for an activity with more time left.
Treat this as the published rule for that build, not a guarantee based on a rounded icon. Inspect the current remaining-time information. Training also has a separate completion issue: arena learning cannot finish a skill level, as explained in training and skill changes.
For an activity at or above 0.1 day, or with unknown remaining time, do not rely on unpausing to wait it out: the September notes say unpausing with a match pending can produce an error sound. Use the documented room-removal action and recheck the fighter instead.
Does leaving a room preserve recovery?
The August 23 notes say a gladiator removed from the Quarters retains the Fatigue already recovered. The September 17 Infirmary notes describe a different result: early discharge removes injuries according to recovery time completed, while restoring Fatigue to its pre-admission value.
Therefore, do not treat “remove from room” as “fully healed.” Recheck the actual Fatigue and injury markers before selecting the fighter. If you cannot field a suitable team, the available roster is the constraint; this guide does not promise that an injured or exhausted substitute can safely win.
What if the room still will not release the fighter?
Record the room, remaining time, pending match, input device and exact response to the action. The original poster specifically asked about interaction after the preparation prompt; the developer replied that room occupants can be removed, but we have not independently tested every modal state or controller mapping.
Use the official Steam discussions or the support contact on Brain Seal’s website. Do not use the unanswered simultaneous Arena/Exhibition exploit report as an intended workaround. See employees and Exhibitions for the documented availability rules.
Which sources support these steps?

- October 7 demo patch: nearly complete activities and preparation.
- September 17 recovery and matchup changes.
- August 23 Quarters recovery fix.
Checked November 5, 2026. The source case concerns the demo; no personal gameplay test or controller-specific removal step is claimed.
