Dominus Gladiatus Recovery: Fatigue, Injuries and Morale
Choose Quarters or Infirmary treatment, understand early discharge and inspect Morale separately without relying on old injury odds.
Which problem should you treat first?
Identify whether the fighter is tired, injured, demoralized or unavailable because he is assigned to a room. These conditions overlap, but the documented responses differ.
| Visible problem | Relevant system |
|---|---|
| Fatigue | Rest in the Quarters |
| Injury | Treatment in the Infirmary |
| Low Morale or in-game suicide-risk indicator | Inspect the fighter’s details and relevant Morale events |
| Still assigned to an activity | Check remaining time and the room-removal action |
The Ludus assistant connects these branches. If a pending match is the immediate obstacle, arena readiness gives the developer-confirmed PC room-removal action.
Why can a fighter leave the Infirmary still tired?
The September 17 patch explicitly changes early discharge. Injuries are removed according to how much recovery time has completed, while Fatigue returns to its value before admission.
Partial treatment therefore does not establish complete rest. Recheck both markers when removing a fighter rather than assuming the same treatment timer controls everything. The same update makes Quarters restore Fatigue faster, but does not give a universal recovery rate or a fixed schedule that works for every situation.
The November 2 update also raises the Quarters cost from 25 to 30 coins. It does not specify a per-rest or per-gladiator charging unit, so this is a published change to check against the current prompt, not a complete recovery-cost estimate.
Can you calculate current injury probability from Fatigue?
Not reliably from the sources gathered here. The August demo first tied injury chances to battle outcome, then changed to a Fatigue-based table. September reworked injuries and recovery again, and later updates altered related effects.
Those old tables document their respective builds. They do not establish a current full-game probability calculator. Use the actual indicators and rules in your installed build rather than treating an old percentage as a guarantee.
The Harden talent is specifically documented as protecting against Fatigue-based arena injuries. That wording does not promise immunity to every injury, defeat or death. See recruitment and the market before valuing the talent as an all-purpose safety guarantee.
How does Morale change this decision?
The October notes expose in-game suicide risk in the fighter’s details. They also change the critical-injury interaction: maximum injuries no longer trigger an immediate suicide event, but increase risk for a fighter with prolonged low Morale.
No complete numeric risk formula, threshold or countdown is supplied in those notes. Check the displayed condition and avoid combining injuries with a sustained Morale problem.
The November 2 update says sending a gladiator to the Mines affects Morale across the whole Ludus. The action can therefore affect other fighters too. The reviewed sources do not establish income, duration or a guaranteed return for the gladiator sent there; read the actual confirmation before proceeding. Conversely, the September update removes the Doctore whip’s Morale penalty, and October removes extra Fatigue from that training boost. Read training changes before importing an older penalty.
What should you record if recovery looks wrong?
Note the fighter’s Fatigue before admission, treatment time completed, injuries before and after removal, and any Morale event. State whether you are using the demo or full game and include the current build information.
Ask in the official discussions with those observations. This guide does not invent a save edit or a guaranteed treatment time.
Which official updates define these distinctions?
- September 17: Quarters, Infirmary and Morale.
- October 7: in-game risk display.
- October 16: critical injuries, Morale and Doctore Fatigue.
- November 2: Quarters cost and Ludus-wide Mines effect.
- August 30: Harden’s limited protection.
